One thing I have learned in the payments industry is that the best hardware solutions are the ones built with flexibility in mind.
A recent project we worked on with Volcora and ID TECH is a great example of that.
The project began with a straightforward goal: create a secure mounting solution for the ID TECH VP3350 that would integrate with Volcora’s single-screen POS systems.
The requirements were clear. The mount needed to preserve full magstripe swipe access, allow proper cable clearance, keep the terminal secure, and maintain a clean customer-facing checkout experience.
As development moved forward, the opportunity expanded.
Volcora’s POS lineup evolved to include dual-screen configurations, which gave us the chance to think bigger about the design. Rather than build around a single environment, we engineered a solution that would support both single- and dual-screen setups from the start.
That small shift in approach made a big difference.
Instead of a mount built for one use case, the result became a more scalable solution that could support a broader range of deployments.
That is important because payment environments are always evolving. Merchants update hardware, adjust layouts, and refine workflows as their businesses grow.
The more adaptable the hardware ecosystem, the easier those transitions become.
That is one of the reasons the ID TECH VP3350 is such a strong fit for modern retail and restaurant environments. It supports tap-to-pay, mobile wallets, EMV, and magstripe payments, all within a compact footprint that works across multiple checkout scenarios.

In this case, the end result was a custom key-locking VESA mount that now supports the broader Volcora ecosystem while giving merchants a cleaner and more flexible deployment option.
